This year’s Major Saver card sale set a new record, raising $38,422.50 to benefit the Ray-Pec Public School Foundation and individual elementary and middle schools. During the annual fundraiser, students in grades K-8 sell the discount cards for $15. The proceeds are split between the Foundation and the schools. The sale concluded just before schools closed for the COVID-19 pandemic. Jodie Huston, Executive Director of the Foundation, shared the fundraising totals and distributed proceeds to school principals during an Administrative Council meeting on June 4.
In total, Ray-Pec students sold 5,123 cards. The 2020 Major Saver discount card sale was Feb. 20-March 2. The 2020 cards feature 21 special offers.
2020 participating establishments: Price Chopper, Casey’s General Store, HyVee, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jose Pepper’s, Minsky’s Pizza, Dairy Queen, The Suzy Q Drive In, MOD Pizza, Burger King, Wally’s Grill & Draft House, Papa John’s, El Dorado, Aaron’s Family Fun Center, Merle’s American Tavern, Hawaiian Bros., Brewbakers, Sonic, QDoba, and Paradise Park.
Since 2001, more than $560,000 has been raised to benefit the Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation and the participating schools.
