The Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation Board on Oct. 25 awarded more than $16,000 in grant awards to staff and students across the District.
The funds will be used for a variety of items, including books, supplies, shirts and stickers, coding kits, development toys and activities, sound effects instruments, roller skates, and more.
Participating in the surprise presentations were: Foundation Executive Director Jodie Huston, Superintendent Dr. Mike Slagle, School Board President Ruth Johnson and Foundation Board Members Amy Bowden, Eric Collins, Ashley Crowe, Michelle Houston, Jodi Price, and Pam Steele

Books For Small Reading Group
Bridle Ridge Elementary School Second Grade Teacher Katie Massart received a $285 grant to purchase books for small reading groups.

'Seven Mighty Moves' Book for Teachers
Four Instructional Coaches received grants of $741 each to purchase the book "Seven Mighty Moves" for teachers.

Purchase Class Sets of Wipe Boards
East Middle School Teachers Hannah Brady and Hayden Presley received a $219 grant to purchase class sets of wipe boards.

Assistance For Annual Big Breakfast
Katie Campbell, Principal at Ray-Pec East Middle School, received a $750 grant to help pay for the annual Big Breakfast for students.

Purchase Supplies For SoS National Gratitude Month
High School Teacher Patrick Hemmingsen received a $479 grant to purchase supplies for Sources of Strength National Gratitude Month.

Purchase Blazers For High School Student Ambassadors
Ray-Pec High School Assistant Principal Dr. Steve Meek received a $750 grant to purchase blazers for high school student ambassadors.

Purchase Resources For A Calming Room
Ninth Grade Center Counselor Bethany Sylvester received a $250 grant to purchase resources for a calming room.

Purchase A Wipebook Flipchart
Ninth Grade Center Special Education Teacher Lindsay Carmichael received a $167 grant to purchase a wipebook flipchart.

Purchase Shirts and Stickers for Sources of Strength Peer Leaders and Adult Advisors
Ninth Grade Center Teacher Laura Columbatto received a $540 grant to purchase shirts/stickers for Sources of Strength peer leaders and adult advisors.

Grant For Landscaping Project

Purchase Developmental Toys and Activities

The Ray-Pec Success Academy received a $670 grant to purchase gear for students to attend BoysGrow.

Ray-Pec Academy Teacher Chris Roller received a $1,395 grant to purchase skates and equipment.

Purchase Sound Effects/Musical Instruments To Create Radio Plays
South Middle School Teacher Ashlea Christopher received a $376 grant to purchase sound effects/musical instruments to create radio plays.

Purchase Coding Robots And Kits
Teacher Traci Linder-Maloney received a $650 grant to purchase coding robots and kits. They will be used by second and third graders in the LEAP program for gifted students.

Purchase Sanitizing Cabinet For Safety Glasses
South Middle School Teacher Daniel Tuttle received a $598 grant to purchase a sanitizing cabinet for safety glasses.

Purchase Mini Engine Kits
Teacher Rebecca Huber received a $370 grant to purchase mini engine kits for use by students in the LEAP gifted program.

Purchase Supplies For Art Mural
Ray-Pec Academy students received a $750 grant to purchase materials for an art mural.
