Updated: Mar 20

The Mary Ann Theiss Future Educator Scholarship

This scholarship is in memory of Mary Ann Theiss, a long-time Ray-Pec teacher who passed away in 2021. It is made possible because of a generous gift from the Theiss family honoring her passion and commitment as a lifelong learner and educator, which included teaching 34 years in the Ray-Pec School District.

The Mary Ann Theiss Future Educator Scholarship will have a value of up to $5,000. The funds will be awarded as follows: $1,000 for the freshman year of studies; $1,000 for the sophomore year; $1,000 for the junior year; $1,000 for the senior year; and $1,000 for the semester of student teaching. Raymore-Peculiar High School seniors who plan to attend college to major in education and become teachers may apply.

Criteria:

Cumulative GPA - minimum of 2.5

Good academic standing

Passion for education

Current resume

Three character reference letters

This is a recurring scholarship as long as you reach out to the Foundation annually and provide a current GPA/transcript and a written update on your year at college. If you change majors or do not contact the Foundation by September 15th, the scholarship ends.
